Most Expensive Retailers for Freshlook Contacts

  • 1800Contacts – 1800Contacts had the most expensive prices for the entire line up of Freshlook contact lenses. They were tied for most expensive on three of them, and the most expensive on the other two. They do however have a price match guarantee in which they will beat the competitor’s price by 2%. They don’t price match, everyone, though, so be sure to get in contact with their customer service department to find out if the retailer you are trying to price match qualifies.
  • Walgreens – Walgreens ended up being tied for most expensive on three of the five line up of Freshlook contact lenses, and came in 2nd most expensive on the other two Freshlook lenses. Walgreens does, however, have promotions occasionally where they give 20% off so you might want to take a peek just to check what promotions they have before making your purchase.

Worth Mentioning

  • Eyeconic – Eyeconic is VSP Vision Care’s official online website, and because of that you are able to directly apply your vision benefits to your contact lens order if you have VSP, Cigna Vision, or MetLife insurance. If you are on a budget this could definitely help alleviate some of the money that you would have to pay out of pocket. You can find out more about using your insurance benefits online here.

How to Save Money on Contact Lenses

When it comes to prescription contact lenses, getting the exam alone is a nice chunk of money, so saving as much money as possible on the eyewear itself is definitely a priority. Before you make your decision on where to buy your Freshlook contact lenses, make sure you remember these tips on how to save money on your contact lenses.

  • Shop Around – The best advice we can give when it comes to contact lenses is to shop around. Prices for contact lenses fluctuate at times and checking around for the best price is best. Which is what this article is for in the first place. To save even more money you should shop around when you are looking to get your exam done as well. Many optometrists are independent doctor’s and they set their own prices. Checking around for good prices for exams, just because the exam is less expensive doesn’t mean you’re not getting a doctor that knows what they are doing.
  • Look for promotions – This goes hand in hand with shopping around, look for any sales that different retailers may be having. Around various different holidays, retailers like to run Freshlook logospecials so it is definitely worth keeping an eye out.
  • Buy in Bulk – Many retailers offer savings when you buy over a certain quantity of contact lenses. These savings are usually instant savings and could bring the cost per box down substantially.
  • Don’t Wait till Last Minute to Order – If you wait until you are out of contact lenses and you need to overnight the contact lenses to your house, this drives up the cost. Especially if you do not have a backup pair of glasses and you have no way of seeing without your contact lenses. Always be prepared and order your contact lenses whenever you put on your second to last set. That way while your contact lenses are being ordered and on their way, you still have one set as a back up for emergencies, you never know when a contact will tear.
  • Use Insurance – If you have vision insurance, applying your benefits towards your contact lenses could save you from having to put too much money out of pocket up front.
  • FSA/HSA Cards – If you have FSA or HSA cards that are affiliated with Visa or MasterCard, many online retailers give you the ability to use these health savings cards just as you would use a credit or debit card online. If you have leftover money towards the end of the year, and you need to spend your health savings accounts stocking up on contact lenses is always a great idea.
  • Manufacturer Rebates – Often times whenever a manufacturer releases new lenses or they want to promote a specific lens they will run mail-in rebate offers that you can often times fill you and send in to get some money back. This is a great way to put some money back into your pocket, even though mail-in rebates take a long time its still money back.

Contact Lens Care Tips

In order to get the most out of your contact lenses, understanding how to properly care for them is extremely important. Not caring for your contact lenses can reduce the amount of time that you can wear your contacts, but much worse it could lead to unwanted eye infections that could possibly lead to vision loss. Which is very important to keep these tips in mind anytime you wear contact lenses:

  • Wash your hands – Making sure you always wash your hands before handling your contacts will go a long way in keeping them clean. Any bacteria that could be on your hands has the potential to be transferred over onto your contact lenses.Washing hands
  • Don’t swim with them on – Do not swim with your contact lenses on, or be in any sort of water whether it is the lake or your jacuzzi at home. Bacteria in water can easily be transferred over to and trapped in your contact lenses. This could lead to very serious eye complications.
  • Use Recommended Solution – Always make sure you use the recommended type of contact lens solution for your type of contact lenses.
  • Clean Case – Always make sure you clean your contact lens case every time you use it and air dry it out. It is also recommended to change out your contact lens cases every 3 months.
  • Hair Spray Before Contacts – If you are going to be using hairspray, always be sure to use the hairspray before you put your contact lenses on.
  • Makeup After Contacts – Always apply your make up after you have already put your contact lenses into your eyes. Putting the contact lenses on after you already have makeup on risk getting make up onto your contact lenses, as well as smear your makeup.

Final Thoughts

Although Freshlook contact lenses have become less relevant in recent years with the emergence of the Air Optix Colors, which offer a much more comfortable lens, along with being a less costly option due to it being a monthly-wear lens.

  1. I am really scared of using cheap contact lenses. Previously had a bad sore on my eyes with cheap ones. Is this pair will be a difference? Swimming with contact lens on is dangerous. I rather wear powered goggles. Lucky I don’t use hair spray for my hair do. I like the Frames Direct. Have a good experience shopping for contacts with them.
