One of the biggest hassles of wearing reading glasses is the fact that you are not able to see far when you are wearing them. That means in order for you to be able to see far you are going to have to either look over them, or take them off, and we all know that when glasses are not being worn there is a chance for them to be misplaced or damaged.

Which means you no longer have to look over them or take them off whenever you need to see far. This lowers the chance of them getting damaged or lost. So where can you find these bifocal reading glasses?

Where to find more bifocal readers

Readers.com is a company that is based out of Greenwood, Indiana and was founded in 2006 by Randy and Angie Stocklin. Having over a decade under their belt, their company has expanded and now carries over 600 unique styles of readers, with a wide range of power options, some that can be difficult to find at your local retail stores.

Most of the bifocal readers from Readers.com goes up to about a +3.50 or +4.00. If you need more power, you should look into the standard reading glasses, which could go up to a +7.00, which is a power that you will very rarely find at a local store.

Another place you could find more bifocal readers is Amazon. You can find a wide variety of bifocal readers there and best of all, many are eligible for Amazon Prime.

How to figure out what your reading power is

Like millions of other people around the globe, there comes a time in your life where you will pick up something to read and you found out that the text has become blurry. Most people that I have talked to throughout my career as an optician has said that they felt like they woke up one day and all of a sudden they started having issues with fine print.

There are a number of ways you can check to see which reading power would work best for you. Readers.com has a printable reading chart that you could use to help determine your reading power. You simply print out the chart, hold the paper at a normal reading distance of 14″ away from your face, and without any glasses on you would try to read each line of text. Once you find a line that you can read, that is the reading power you will need. If you happen to not be able to read the entire chart, you should have an eye exam done with an eye doctor to determine what your prescription is.

Another way is to go to your local retail store that sells reading glasses and try various different magnifications to see which one works best for you.

Takeaway

Bifocal readers are a great option for anyone who is tired of having to take their reading glasses on and off to be able to see far as well as up close. There are other situations such as when you are driving and you need to see your gauges and wearing a pair of reading glasses just would not work.

See if there is a pair of bifocal readers that might work for you at Readers.com or Amazon for the best selection and prices.

Have you worn non-prescription bifocal readers before? I would love to hear about your experience with them, let me know about it below!

    • Hi there! Thanks for stopping by, there isn’t a warranty with these glasses as they are quite inexpensive anyways, but they do have a 90 day return policy if you are un happy with them, or if they come in defective.

  2. Thanks for the nice presentation and rich information of different glasses. It is very important to know reading glasses functionality and difference comparatively when we want a eye glass. Different glasses has different look and feel. Many people are using these glasses as a fashion target. But functional difference is not well known to everybody. I think this information is very helpful for eye glass user.
